“Blue Bloods” Star Donnie Confirms That The Show Could Be Saved

CBS’s “Blue Bloods” Star Donnie Wahlberg isn’t giving up on the show yet and he’s happy to share a little inside info about the show!

The series was recently canceled and suppose to end with the current 14th season.

Donnie let fans know that the decision could be reversed if the ratings are good.

Donnie has played Detective Danny Reagan throughout the show’s long run. Blue Bloods, which premiered in 2010, has been a staple of CBS’s primetime lineup for over a decade. The show follows the Reagan family, a multigenerational clan of law enforcement officers in New York City, as they navigate the complexities of both their professional and personal lives. Wahlberg’s character serves as a dedicated detective with a strong moral compass, often finding himself at the center of gripping cases and family drama.

Donnie is referring to the show ending as “allegedly” and “potentially” meaning he knows something that we don’t.

Blue Bloods vet Gregory Jbara, who plays NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Garrett Moore also fueled rumors.

He shared:

“I don’t want to get any anyone’s hopes up,” Jbara said on the Think Big podcast (cued up above), “but if our numbers are really good… I know that there’s a push to try and flesh out the back half” of the season, to extend it into Spring 2025 and hit the 300 mark. (Currently, Blue Bloods is on pace to fall a few shy of the entirely symbolic, round-number milestone.)”

BLUE BLOODS is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan is the New York Police Commissioner, and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as chief. A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son, Danny, a seasoned detective, family man and Iraq War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases with his partner and new mother, Detective Maria Baez. Erin, the middle daughter, is a New York assistant D.A. who serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father, while also pursuing a run for district attorney. Jamie is the youngest Reagan, a Harvard Law graduate and the family’s golden boy. Unable to deny the family tradition, Jamie decided to give up a lucrative future in law and follow in the family footsteps as a cop. He’s found a friend and ally in his wife, Eddie, who keeps him on his toes, and has very different reasons than the Reagans for joining the police force.
